Sri Lanka, Oct. 2 -- All liquor shops across the country will be closed tomorrow, as announced by the Excise Department.

World Temperance Day is observed annually on October 3 with the objective of raising public awareness about the temperance movement, encouraging moderation, and completely refraining from the use of alcoholic beverages.

Reports indicate that nearly 3 million people worldwide die due to alcohol.
