Sri Lanka, April 7 -- Eighty individuals were taken into custody today (07) during a two-hour special operation conducted within the Dambulla Dedicated Economic Center.

Dambulla Police state that the raid involved officers from Dambulla and surrounding stations, acting under the instructions of the Matale Senior Superintendent of Police. Headquarters Police Inspector Sugath Bandara Wijesundara led the team during the operation.

Police report that some of the suspects were found in possession of cannabis, heroin, and other narcotics. The group also includes individuals unable to confirm their identity and several persons evading court appearances for various offenses.
