Sri Lanka, July 31 -- Police media spokesman Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Wutler stated that authorities have apprehended 743 adolescents aged 14 to 18 for drug-related offences during the first nine months since the launch of the 'Ratama Ekata ' operation.

The spokesman further noted that Police arrested 7,866 youths aged 18 to 22.

He made these remarks while joining a media briefing today (31) to provide updated information regarding the confiscation process of illegal properties belonging to drug traffickers under the 'Ratama Ekata' National Operation.
