Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- Around 6.2 million Sri Lankan women do not hold jobs, and 58.1% of them do not expect to work due to family responsibilities or household chores, a main national newspaper reports today (18).

Among non-working women of working age, 87% of those aged 25 to 34 and 93.6% of those aged 35 to 54 cited family responsibilities or household chores as the reason for not working, the report states.
