Sri Lanka, March 12 -- Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodhagama ordered four officials from the Department of Motor Traffic, including a former Assistant Director, to be remanded until March 20.

The order followed their production before the court by the Bribery Commission this afternoon (12).

The individuals held in custody are former Assistant Director Wasala Priyantha Bandara Eriyagama, former Deputy Commissioner Balakrishnan Sanjeevani, Investigation and Development Assistant Nayana Kumuduni, and former departmental clerk Dhammika Niroshan.

Authorities arrested these current and former employees under several charges, including the fraudulent registration of motor vehicles.
