Sri Lanka, Sept. 25 -- 22nd Amendment to the Constitution passed in Parliament with special majority

The 22nd Amendment to the Constitution was passed in Parliament today (25) with a special majority of 95 votes.

A total of 158 votes were cast in favour, while 63 votes were cast against.

Furthermore, the number of abstentions was zero.

In addition, the 22nd Constitutional Amendment Bill was read for the third time and passed in Parliament with amendments by a special majority.
