Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- The country has reached a terrifying and challenging turning point, and the 22nd Constitutional Amendment can be described as a conspiracy that turns the supreme law, the constitution, upside down, damages the separation of powers of institutions such as the legislature, executive, and judiciary within the democratic structure, and destroys democracy based on principles of checks and balances, which must be defeated by popular power, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa says.
