Sri Lanka, Sept. 27 -- A 21-year-old motorcyclist has died following a collision between a motorcycle and a three-wheeler on the Lunawa coastal road in Moratuwa, police said.

The accident occurred near the Lunawa four-way junction when a three-wheeler travelling towards Moratuwa attempted to execute a U-turn, causing a motorcycle travelling in the same direction to crash into it.

The severely injured motorcyclist was initially admitted to the Lunawa Hospital and subsequently transferred to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital for further treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police confirmed that the deceased was a 21-year-old resident of Badulla.
