Sri Lanka, Sept. 30 -- Sri Lanka's Committee on Parliamentary Business has decided that the appropriation bill for the financial year 2027 will be presented for its second reading, known as the budget speech, on November 12, 2026. The budget debate is scheduled to run from November 13 through December 14, 2026.

The Parliamentary Communication Department announced that this approval was granted during a meeting of the committee headed by Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne.

Prior to this, the appropriation bill is scheduled to be presented to parliament for its first reading on October 7.
