200 old post offices to be modernised
Sri Lanka, May 16 -- The government allocated 600 million rupees to modernise 200 old post offices.
Postmaster General Ruwan Sathkumara stated this today whilst attending the official ceremony to hand over the completely renovated Bogawantalawa sub-post office, which is over 150 years old, to the public.
The Postmaster General Ruwan Sathkumara expressed that his objective is to make ancient post offices visually appealing places, which will attract more customers to post services.
He pointed out that special targets are given to the modernised post offices, and by employees working towards those targets with dedication, the funds spent to modernise these offices can be re-earned.
