Sri Lanka, May 25 -- Sri Lankan authorities reportedly recovered a mere USD 200 out of USD 2.5 million stolen via a cyber breach linked to the Ministry of Finance computer system.

Quoting a media outlet, officials sought assistance from United States authorities to trace the missing funds, which thieves allegedly transferred from the Treasury to overseas bank accounts.

Investigators traced a portion of the stolen money to a bank account in Delaware, USA, whilst linking another portion to a bank in a different American state.

However, foreign counterparts informed local investigators that the Delaware account stood empty, whilst the second account held only USD 200.
