Sri Lanka, June 17 -- The Sri Lanka Postal Department will issue permanent appointments to 192 acting Assistant Postmasters tomorrow (18) at the Colombo Central Post Office, the Ministry of Health and Mass Media announced.

The ceremony will be held under the patronage of Health and Mass Media Minister Nalinda Jayatissa.

The ministry said the government has implemented several programmes to transform the network of sub post offices into a more efficient and high-quality service system.

As part of these efforts, the move has been taken under government guidance to strengthen human resources in the sub post office service structure.

The officials being made permanent had been serving in acting positions since around 2019.
