Sri Lanka, May 25 -- 19 individuals sustained injuries after a bus transporting garment factory workers veered off the road and overturned into a paddy field in the Kalaeliowita area on the Kahathuduwa-Diyagama road, according to the Police Headquarters.

The incident occurred today (25) at around 6:30 PM, police stated.

The bus plunged into the paddy field after the driver attempted to make way for another vehicle on the road.

Among the 19 injured individuals, 17 were admitted to the Homagama Hospital, one to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital, and another to the Wethara Hospital, with police confirming that none of the victims are in critical condition.
