Sri Lanka, Sept. 28 -- A fleet of 104 newly introduced Metro buses will begin operations tomorrow (29) to tackle severe traffic congestion in Colombo and offer a comfortable travel option for the public.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will officially inaugurate the service tomorrow, according to the Metro Bus Company.

The buses will run across 5 new routes alongside the 2 currently active routes, expanding coverage to 07 key roads across the city.

A structured timetable will run to ensure commuters reach their destinations without delay.

The service plans to expand outside Colombo starting next year, targeting initial operations across the Jaffna, Kandy, and Galle districts.
