Sri Lanka, June 10 -- The Ministry of Health and Mass Media says that out of 31,155 premises inspected during the second day (09) of the three-day national dengue mosquito control programme, 1,864 premises were found to contain mosquito larvae.

This national programme, which began on June 8 across MOH divisions in 14 districts, is scheduled to conclude today (10).

According to a detailed report issued by the National Dengue Control Unit of the Ministry, 8,069 locations inspected yesterday were identified as potential mosquito breeding sites.

It was found that more than half of inspected factories (61%), construction sites (55.4%), and religious places (51.5%) were at risk of mosquito breeding.
