Sri Lanka, July 5 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa states that the Legislature, the Executive, and the Judiciary exist within our country's constitution to safeguard democracy.

He emphasised that while these serve as the three main pillars of democracy, the independent media acts as the fourth pillar, and civil society movements should serve as a vital fifth pillar in upholding democracy.

The Opposition Leader stated that regardless of the individual goals of civil movements in our country, this initiative aims to consolidate them toward a common objective - a national mission to secure democracy.

He announced that this programme will commence next Monday at 9 a.m. at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute.
