India, Oct. 10 -- YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has been detained by Gurugram Police after refusing to comply with their instructions not to travel to Delhi for the planned Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest against chief election commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, the police told HT.

Police teams had reached Rathee's residence in Kendriya Vihar society, Sector 56, Gurugram, ahead of the planned protest in Delhi. A senior Gurugram Police official had earlier said that officers were asking Rathee not to travel to Delhi to join the demonstration.

"In case he denies and tries to travel to Delhi, he will be detained," the officer had told HT.
