Willing to wait for talks between Cong leadership, K'taka CM: Reddy
Bengaluru, June 7 -- A day after senior Congress leader Ramalinga Reddy announced his resignation from Karnataka's newly-constituted cabinet over a dispute on portfolio allocation, he indicated that he was willing to await the outcome of discussions between chief minister DK Shivakumar and the party high command, even as party general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala claimed that Reddy had withdrawn his resignation.
Reddy maintained that he had never sought any particular portfolio and was merely disappointed over assurances that were not fulfilled.
"Surjewala has appealed to me to withdraw my resignation," Reddy told reporters, while adding that the party leadership had conveyed to him that his resignation would not be accepted.
