WB: 1 held after woman alleges assault by TMC leader's supporters
Kolkata, July 13 -- A woman from Narendrapur in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district has alleged that supporters of the area's former Trinamool Congress (TMC) legislator assaulted and partially shaved her head in public on Friday before tying her to a lamp post and tearing parts of her clothes, police said on Sunday.
"A first information report (FIR) was registered on Saturday based on her complaint and one suspect has been arrested," a district police officer requesting anonymity said.
