UP judge questions legality after 97 of his part-heard cases recalled
Meerut, Sept. 19 -- Where would a judge go if injustice happens to him, additional district and sessions judge in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district Ravi Kumar Diwakar has said while questioning the legality of the then district judge's decision to recall 97 pending "part-heard" cases involving serious offences, including murder, from his court on August 18 and transfer them to other courts.
Diwakar made the observations in his 35-page judgment on Thursday, acquitting an accused in a nearly 11-year-old case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
