India, April 1 -- US President Donald Trump claimed on Wednesday that Iran's new regime President has urged the United States for a ceasefire amid the ongoing war.

Trump added that he would consider the proposal when the Strait of Hormuz is open, free and clear.

Calling Iran's new regime "much less radicalized", Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social, "Iran's New Regime President, much less Radicalized and far more intelligent than his predecessors, has just asked the United States of America for a CEASEFIRE! We will consider when Hormuz Strait is open, free, and clear."

He added that until Strait of Hormuz is not open, US will "blast Iran into oblivion".
