Tripura: Amit Shah vows to prevent demographic change
India, June 5 -- Union home minister Amit Shah on Friday vowed to prevent demographic change in the country, as he visited the Lankamura outpost along the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura.
"...be it in Tripura, or West Bengal, or Bihar...we shall not allow demographic change through the gaps in the country's borders. This is our firm belief and resolve," said Shah, who interacted with the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel. He added that a pilot "smart border" project will be implemented at seven to eight places in the country.
