Srinagar, Sept. 5 -- A terrorist was killed by the security forces on Friday during a joint operation by the army, state police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the forests of Ashdar in central Kashmir's Budgam district, officers aware of the matter said. The operation was launched after movement of terrorists was spotted in the area. During a search and cordon operation, "a contact was established which left one terrorist dead", they said. Designated as "Operation Ashdar", the army's 15 Corps said the search operation is still underway.
