Suvendu orders probe into fraud in mamata govt'swelfare schemes
Kolkata, June 2 -- West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari on Monday announced the formation of a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the alleged irregularities in various social welfare schemes launched during the previous Trinamool Congress (TMC) regime, claiming that at least three million ineligible beneficiaries are receiving financial assistance.
Addressing reporters, Adhikari said investigations into a recent fraud case in Murshidabad district had uncovered a wider network of alleged misuse of welfare schemes.
