New Delhi, July 14 -- A Delhi Police sub-inspector allegedly died by suicide after shooting himself with his service pistol at the Madhu Vihar police station in east Delhi on Monday, officials said. Police said the incident occurred around 12.20pm and colleagues rushed to the room after hearing the gunshot. They found him with a head injury. Senior officers and forensic experts reached the police station and began an investigation. Police said they the deceased officer's family told investigators that he had been suffering from depression for some time. Police added that no foul play is suspected so far and no suicide note has been found. The officer joined the Delhi Police in 2019, hails from Uttar Pradesh, and is survived by his wife. htc...
