Stir continues in Bengal over candidate lists
Kolkata, March 19 -- Protests that erupted on Tuesday across several parts of West Bengal after major political parties announced candidates for the upcoming assembly elections continued on Wednesday, with incidents of vandalism and road blockades reported. The party workers voiced dissent over ticket distribution.
The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Tuesday released a list of 291 candidates, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Left Front announced 144 and 192 candidates respectively on Monday.
