India, Aug. 13 -- Scientist and activist Sonam Wangchuk has called for "India's second Independence movement" to bring about changes in how the country chooses its leaders, urging citizens to suggest "selfless, fearless" people of character and substance to help shape India's future.

"This country needs a peaceful revolution, at least in how we choose our leaders... if we are to remain even a respectable nation by 2047. Close to half of our MPs have criminal cases, and a third have serious charges like murder, rape and kidnapping.
