SC to hear petitions on Ayodhya donation row
New Delhi, July 11 -- The Supreme Court is slated to hear on Monday a batch of petitions seeking an independent investigation into the alleged embezzlement of donations received at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
A bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana will take up three writ petitions raising concerns over the alleged financial irregularities in the affairs of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which manages the Ayodhya Ram temple.
The hearing assumes significance as the Uttar Pradesh Police investigation into the alleged donation theft continues, with eight people currently in custody following an FIR registered on the basis of a special investigation team (SIT) inquiry ordered...
