sc seeks details of pending cases under anti-terror laws
New Delhi, April 21 -- The Supreme Court on Monday directed states and Union territories to furnish details of pending cases under anti-terror laws to assess the feasibility of setting up exclusive special courts, even as it underscored the need to balance national security with individual liberty.
A bench of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and justice Joymalya Bagchi observed that while society has the right to ensure prosecution of terror accused, prolonged incarceration raises concerns over personal freedom.
