New Delhi, July 31 -- The Supreme Court on Thursday reserved orders on whether the challenge to the law appointing the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and Election Commissioners should be referred for decision by a five-judge bench. One of the principal grounds of challenge is the exclusion of the Chief Justice of India from the selection committee, contrary to the framework laid down by a five-judge Constitution bench in the 2023 Anoop Baranwal judgment.
