SC refers Umar Khalid bail plea to larger bench, grants interim relief to 2 other accused in 2020 Delhi riots case
India, May 22 -- The Supreme Court on Friday referred to a larger bench the issue of how constitutional courts should handle bail under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) while hearing matters related to the Delhi riots case and the denial of bail to Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam.
The court also granted interim bail for six months to two accused in the Delhi riots case, Tasleem Ahmed and Abdul Khalid Saifi.
