SC cancels bail of Gr Noida developer
New Delhi, April 3 -- The Supreme Court on Thursday cancelled the bail granted to Satinder Singh Bhasin, the developer of Greater Noida-based commercial venture Grand Venice, holding that he failed to take a "genuine" or "meaningful" effort to settle claims of allottees and investors in his project despite being out on bail since 2019.
Directing him to surrender within a week, a bench of justices Sanjay Karol and N Kotiswar Singh said, "We find it difficult to accept that the petitioner has made genuine and meaningful efforts to settle the claims of the allottees. Despite the passage of time, a large number of allottees have neither received possession nor refund."
