Sabalenka, Osaka set up last-16 clash, Gauff crashes out
Mumbai, May 31 -- Top seed Aryna Sabalenka continued to power her way through the women's singles draw, but has now set up a mouth-watering clash against former world No.1 Naomi Osaka in the fourth round of the French Open.
Reigning champion Coco Gauff lost in three sets to Austrian Anastasia Potapova to bring an end to her title defence. The fourth seed was defeated in the third round 4-6, 7-6 (7/1), 6-4 by the 28th seed.
Playing on Court Suzanne-Lenglen, Sabalenka picked up a third consecutive straight-sets win, beating Australia's Daria Kasatkina 6-0, 7-5 in an hour and 16 minutes. "I was happy in the tough moments I never gave up," Sabalenka said after the win.
