rush abates as govt reiterates supply assurance
New Delhi, March 28 -- Except some sporadic incidents, no major queues were reported from the filling stations across the country on Friday, the day Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with chief ministers of non-election bound states on West Asia crisis.
State governments of Telangana, Karnataka and Gujarat on Friday issued statements stating there was no shortage of fuel and LPG as smaller queues were witnessed in these states on Friday as compared to earlier this week.
"Absolutely, no shortage of fuel," said Telangana government in a statement providing details of daily availability of petrol, diesel and LPG.
Karnataka government in a statement said action was being taken against "false" social media posts on fuel shortage.
