Srinagar, April 14 -- Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk on Monday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take timely measures, in the national interest, to resolve Ladakh's issues at the earliest. In an X post, he said the central government has not given a new date for talks with the Ladakh leadership after the first round of discussions between Ladakh leaders and a team designated by the Union ministry of home affairs (MHA) ended inconclusively in New Delhi on February 4. The Leh Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance have demanded statehood and inclusion under the Sixth Schedule for the region, which the Centre has not accepted so far due to several reservations.
