RERA-IBC alignment, affordable housing push key to achieving $5.8 trillion real estate vision by 2047: Report
India, June 20 -- A renewed focus on affordable housing, rental housing reforms, stronger homebuyer protection through better RERA-IBC alignment, and more effective implementation of RERA is essential for India's real estate sector to achieve its projected size of $5.8 trillion by 2047, according to a joint report by KPMG in India and NAREDCO.
The report, 'Advancing India's Housing and Urban Development Agenda', released by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at the NAREDCO Real Estate Conclave 2026 in New Delhi this week, recommended a series of measures to boost the supply of affordable housing for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Low-Income Groups (LIG).
