SBS Nagar, June 7 -- A 23-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly strangling a 16-year-old girl to death, stuffing her body into a suitcase and setting it ablaze in a forest in Punjab's Hoshiarpur, police said, adding that the accused has claimed he was in a relationship with the victim's mother. According to officials, the charred body of the victim, a resident of Nawanshahr, was recovered from the Khuralgarh Sahib forest area on Friday evening. The accused, identified as Gurwinder Singh of Jadli village in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district, returned from Dubai two years ago, police said.
