India, Aug. 13 -- Ludhiana Junction lacks basic facilities for differently abled passengers, including ramps and lifts to help them move between platforms and reach trains, even as the station is undergoing redevelopment.

The station has a ramp at the entrance that allows passengers to reach Platform 1. However, there is no lift or ramp to help them reach the footbridges connecting the platforms. The only apparent alternative is a path between the tracks at the ends of the platforms, which is not a designated facility for differently abled passengers.

The problem extends to basic amenities. The only toilet designated for differently abled passengers, located on platforms 2 and 3, is poorly maintained. Its taps and other fittings are bro...
