New Delhi, April 29 -- Anant Ambani, Reliance Industries executive director, has appealed to the government of Colombia to suspend a plan to cull 80 hippopotamuses and instead allow their translocation to Vantara, a wildlife conservation facility founded by him in Gujarat's Jamnagar.
Ambani has written a letter to Colombia's environment minister Irene Velez Torres, proposing a "scientifically led" translocation of the hippos from the Magdalena River basin to Jamnagar and offering to fund and execute the operation.
