India, March 11 -- The brain, like any other muscle group, requires training to become stronger and work well with age. There are different ways to do so, but apparently, only one type of training has demonstrably reduced the risk of dementia by 25 percent. Taking to Instagram on February 15, Dr Ayesha Sherzai, neurologist and content creator, explained what it is.

Dr Sherzhai spoke of the scientific paper titled 'Impact of cognitive training on claims-based diagnosed dementia over 20 years: evidence from the ACTIVE study,' that was published in the Alzheimer's & Dementia: Translational Research & Clinical Interventions journal, volume 12, in February 2026.
