New Delhi, Sept. 24 -- The Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) has rewarded seven of the twenty rebel Trinamool MPs with organisational responsibility in its latest reshuffle. Five rebel MPs have been appointed as vice presidents and two have been made as general secretaries, party chief Jyoti Prakash Chatterjee announced on Tuesday. The announcement, however, comes even as the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has not yet given his approval to the merger of these 20 MPs with the Kolkata-based NCPI. The organisation reshuffle assumes importance amid strong speculations that at least 17 of these rebel TMC MPs will join the BJP.
