Ahmedabad, May 22 -- A murder convict who jumped parole in 2014 and spent nearly 12 years absconding while working as a supporting actor in Bollywood films and television shows was arrested by the Ahmedabad Crime Branch, police said on Thursday. The accused, Hemant Nagindas Modi, 53, a native of Naroda in Ahmedabad, was serving a life sentence in a 2005 murder case registered at Naroda police station. He was granted 30-day parole by the Gujarat High Court on July 25, 2014, but failed to surrender after the parole period ended and was later declared a parole jumper, officials said.
