India, May 14 -- Rupali Chakankar, former Maharashtra State Commission for Women (MSCW) chairperson and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, was on Thursday questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with its money-laundering investigation into the case against arrested 'godman' Ashok Kharat.

Chakankar arrived at ED's Mumbai office at around 10:30am on Thursday, complying with ED's summons for her appearance. The process to record her statement in the case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) is likely to take a few hours, the officials said.
