Kolkata, Aug. 31 -- Political graffiti on the walls of Kolkata's Jadavpur University (JU) was whitewashed a day after chief minister Suvendu Adhikari said, during an address outside the campus, that his government would not allow JU to become a free ground for Maoist and Palestine sympathisers, and elements seeking Kashmir's independence. The development comes amid unrest at the university following clashes between the ABVP and SFI last week. A professor, who requested anonymity, said, "A contractor hired by the university's maintenance department covered most of the graffiti with white paint on Saturday morning.
