Joint search on in Raj for 400-yr-old cannon stolen from MP's Narwar Fort
Jaipur, July 24 -- Police from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are carrying out a joint search operation in Rajasthan's Karauli district to trace a 400-year-old cannon stolen from Madhya Pradesh's historic Narwar Fort earlier this month, officials said.
Investigators suspect the cannon may have been hidden in Gaonra Meena village in Karauli.
More than 60 police personnel from the two states have been searching the area since Wednesday afternoon, said the officials. The operation, led by Sadar Hindon SHO Girraj Jatav, is focused on locations where recent excavations were reportedly carried out. Police suspect the stolen cannon may have been buried underground.
