India, April 1 -- Airline carrier IndiGo has announced a hike in the airfare prices after the government raised the prices on aviation turbine fuel (ATF). The revised fuel charges varied as per the distance, the lowest being Rs.275 for less than 500 kilometres to Rs.950 for above 2,000 kilometres.
The highest change in fuel price was for destinations in UK and Europe, except for Greece and Turkey, with fresh cost being Rs.10,000.
IndiGo said that the new fare will be applicable on bookings made after 1 am on Thursday. The move comes after the petroleum ministry said the aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices were hiked by 25% on Wednesday.
