India, Aug. 9 -- Months after a 30-year-old Indian woman, Himanshi Khurana, was found murdered in Canada's Toronto in December last year, the police have arrested her alleged partner, 32-year-old Abdul Ghafoori, on August 7.

The Toronto Police said that Ghafoori has been charged with first degree murder and that victim and the accused were 'known to each other'. the cops had found Khurana's dead body on December 20, 2025 inside a residence.

Her death was classified as a homicide, after which the service's Homicide Unit took over the investigation. A CBC News report back then had said that the police suspect the case to be an "act of intimate partner violence".
