India's toy exports likely to hit $5 bn by 2034
New Delhi, July 8 -- India's toy exports are projected to reach $5 billion by 2034, but the country should aim much higher and target at least a quarter of the projected $179 billion global toy market by 2032, Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Tuesday.
Addressing an event organised by the Toy Association of India in New Delhi, Sitharaman said the Indian toy industry had transformed over the past decade and now exports to 153 countries.
According to a Press Information Bureau (PIB) background note, toy exports rose from $152.7 million in 2017-18 to $384.7 million in 2025-26, a growth of 151.9%.
"If it's a $179 billion market by 2032, we are still aiming at only $5 billion by 2034. I think we are capable of doing much better.....
