New Delhi, Aug. 22 -- India has received Rs.4,895.65 crore (about $511 million) foreign direct investment proposals since the government allowed the automatic approval route for overseas investors with up to 10% beneficial ownership from countries sharing a land border with India, which also includes China, according to a commerce and industry ministry statement. "The response to the revised framework has been encouraging. Since its introduction, 29 FDI investments have been reported under the revised framework up to 20 August 2026, involving proposed FDI of Rs.4,895.65 crore," an official said asking not to be named.
