India, Aug. 28 -- India is planning to acquire the battle-tested Javelin anti-tank missile system, a move US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor said would mark a major step forward in the India-US defence relationship and could open the door to co-production possibilities.

Gor said engagement between the two countries was at "record high levels", amid growing defence and industrial cooperation.
